Job description

CS Mechanical Systems Technician - CO OP
Mississauga, Ontario
Reports to: CS Mechatronics Centre Manager


Summary: The CS Mechanical Systems Co-op Technician provides handson support to the Customer Solutions (CS) team in the 
assembly, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems. Additional responsibilities include 
product testing, labeling, and other duties as assigned by the 
manager or supervisor. This role may require supervision and 
adherence to safety and quality standards.
Location: Mississauga Head Office


Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, pneumatic/electrical schematics, 
    and technical specifications.
  •  Assemble various automation components and sub-assemblies, including 
    process valves, air filtration systems, and custom electro-pneumatic 
    assemblies.
  •  Assemble and troubleshoot pneumatic and electro-pneumatic control panels.
  • Secure parts using bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners.
  • Test and verify functionality of assemblies, sub-assemblies, and gantries.
  • Use hand tools, assembly fixtures, adhesives, and lubricants to test and build 
    cylinder assemblies.
  • Clean, label, and apply necessary hardware to completed assemblies.
  • Fit, assemble, or disassemble parts using a range of hand and power tools.
  • Complete all required ISO documentation accurately and on time.
  • Assist in creating or updating work instructions and assembly procedures.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and immediately report unsafe 
    conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as required, including occasional overtime.
    Minimum Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in Mechanical or Mechatronics
  • Engineering Technology; mechanical focus preferred, with basic electrical 
    knowledge as an asset.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with an investigative approach to ensure accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize tasks 
    effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including technical 
    documentation.
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as 
    collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to manage tasks under pressure and demonstrate a proactive, problemsolving mindset.
