Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Off-Router Machine Operators set up, operate, and tend woodworking machines, such as drill presses, gang rip saws, crosscut saws and chop saws.
  • May operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Must learn to read daily schedule and various styles listed.
  • Must be able to read daily schedule and prepared Bills of Material.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and check parts for correct dimensions.
  • Must be able to safely operate an industrial forklift. (training available)
  • Must be able to operate several varieties of saws (band saw, arm saw, etc...)
  • Identify correct parts for respective styles to be assembled.
  • Report to Upholstery lines as directed by supervisor to assist in correcting any problems they may be having (will use own personal vehicle. Reimbursed for mileage)
  • Must be able to communicate and relay information between upholstery depart and frame mill to help in correcting problems.
  • Properly stack and tag parts on buggy in accordance to guidelines for maximum quantities as related to safe handling procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstation.
  • Assist others when necessary.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

  • Immediately report any work related injury or illness.
  • Keep the work area neat and free of hazards. THE USE OF COMPRESSED AIR WITHOUT PROPER SAFETY NOZZLE IS PROHIBITED FOR CLEAN-UP.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Always ensure proper lifting techniques: avoid bending and twisting at the waist whenever possible.
  • Inspect tools and protective equipment before use.
  • Learn the hazards of the equipment and procedures used on the job.
  • Report any defective, malfunctioning, or suspicious tool, machine, or protective equipment immediately.
  • Participate in safety training and safety meetings.
  • Report any hazards or risks related to policies or procedures.
