Job description

Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts in a busy machine shop environment. You will interpret blueprints and work instructions, perform accurate measurements and inspections, and ensure that all machining processes meet established standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, routers, and other technical documentation.
  • Set up, edit, and run all facets of assigned work, including selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures.
  • Inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and other inspection tools to maintain in-process control charts.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments to machine controls.
  • Ensure company procedures and best machining practices are consistently followed and maintained.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance as required to ensure reliable operation.
  • Respond to common inquiries and communicate effectively to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and a strong work ethic in all assigned tasks.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to learn new skills and contribute to continuous improvement in machining processes.

Essential Skills

  • 1–3 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably with HAAS, AKIRA SEIKI, and DOSSAN equipment.
  • Proficiency in setting up CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and program adjustments.

  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, depth gauges, calipers, and indicators.
  • Ability to perform in-process inspection of parts and maintain control charts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
