CNC Lathe Operator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to operate CNC turning centers, including live tooling, broaching, and turning operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient production in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes according to internal data sheets and work instructions.

• Perform live tooling, broaching, and turning operations on CNC turning centers.

• Load materials and products into machine centers.

• Monitor machine performance and adjust tool offsets and machine parameters to meet engineering specifications.

• Prepare parts for first article inspection and verify dimensions and tolerances.

• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.

• Compare inspection results against engineering drawings and documented specifications.

• Perform routine machine maintenance and daily equipment checks to ensure optimal performance.

• Document production data and report quality issues, machine problems, or production deviations to supervisors.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following all safety procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment (aerospace manufacturing experience preferred).

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards.

• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers.

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.

• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.

• Knowledge of CNC machine setup and basic programming is a plus.

• Experience with Okuma and MORI CNC control systems is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
