Description

Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, IGT (Industrial Gas Turbine) Division, a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, is searching for an experienced multi-axis CNC Creep Feed Grinder Programmer / Operator who is looking to continue their career in advanced manufacturing technology. 


In this role, you will be responsible for operating and programming the specialized CNC grinding machine, utilizing the creep feed technique to precisely grind complex shapes, hard, thin, metals, and soft alloys by taking very slow, deep cuts, requiring precise setup, monitoring of machine parameters, and strict quality control to achieve high-tolerance finishes on workpieces, often used in industrial gas turbines and aerospace applications. 


  Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Loading workpieces, selecting appropriate grinding wheels, programming, and setting up machine parameters based on part drawing and specifications, including feed rates and depth of cut optimized for creep feed grinding. 
  • Create and modify CNC programs to execute complex griding paths for intricate geometries. 
  • Continuously monitoring the grinding process, performing in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
  • Perform Deburr operations within specified tolerances. 
  • Design and develop measuring/inspection process and fixturing when required or needed. 
  • Identify and resolve issues related to machine malfunctions, tool, wear, and process variations. 
  • Document all inspection findings of each part and adhere to the company's document retention policy. 
  • Adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and housekeeping standards and perform routine maintenance tasks on the CNC grinder to maintain optimal performance and prevent or avoid production downtime.
  • Performs additional and related duties as assigned.  

Requirements

  • High School/Equivalent  Diploma and or Specified Trade school certificate. 
  • Thorough  understanding of CNC grinding principles and programming. 
  • Well-versed in  creep feed grinding techniques and limitations.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications. 
  • Well-versed with various precision measurement skills using various metrology tools. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and great attention to detail. 
  • 5 years of Multi-axis  CNC griding experience.
  • Experience in industrial gas turbine and or aerospace industry is highly desirable.  
  • Good organizational, planning, and timekeeping skills.
  • Understanding of  lean and 6S safety in a manufacturing environment
