Job description

DESCRIPTION:
Plan and develop CNC programs for 3, 4, 5 axis machining center. Program CNC machines using advanced cutting tools and technology. Design fixtures for manufacturing the products. Programming, using primarily Mastercam. Establish CNC programming Standard Work procedures as part of the development of a virtual qualification system interfaced between Mastercam, Vericut.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop new and improve existing machining programs using Mastercam.
  • Review existing machine practices for produceability and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide shop support and operator training, as required.
  • As required, work directly with Machine Shop, Inspection, Engineering, Planning to address concerns.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of two years experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and manufacturing principles
  • Experience programming in Mastercam.
  • Experience with Multi-Axis CNC Machines a must

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School or GED Diploma required - Associates Degree or Certification in related field preferred.
  • Experience programming in Mastercam.
  • Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufacture of parts.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
  • Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.
  • Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
