CNC Programmer – Prototype Manufacturing | 3, 4 & 5‑Axis

Step into a fast‑growing, highly creative prototype environment where you’ll work alongside Industrial Designers, Engineers, Machinists, and Fabricators to bring cutting‑edge ideas to life. This role exists because of major growth — the team is reducing lead times from six weeks to three — and they need a skilled CNC Programmer who thrives in a collaborative, innovative shop.

You’ll program new prototype parts, set up 5‑axis mills, run parts, design fixtures, and contribute directly to products built for medical, aerospace, industrial, and consumer markets.

What You’ll Do
  • Solve complex machining challenges with strong problem‑solving and creative thinking
  • Program and operate 3, 4, and 5‑axis CNC mills and CNC turning centers (Haas + DMG Mori/Siemens preferred)
  • Perform CAM programming, fixture design, and part setup — Mastercam experience preferred
  • Manage projects and schedules while inspecting parts, performing CMM checks, and maintaining documentation
  • Continuously improve machining processes and pursue precision craftsmanship
  • Order tooling and materials needed to complete prototype jobs
  • Communicate optimizations and machining improvements to engineering
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in CNC programming including Mastercam, SolidWorks, GD&T, and mill programming
  • Fixture creation and machine setup from program to production
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience including setup and operation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and track time/materials for production and budget goals
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors, engineers, and shop personnel

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mastercam expertise is a strong plus
  • Ability to work in a fabrication shop and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Independent critical thinking and problem‑solving
  • Signed employment and confidentiality agreements required
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Small, highly collaborative prototype shop where custom products are built as a team
  • Clean, cool, well‑maintained workspace designed for comfort and efficiency
  • Tight‑knit crew that values both teamwork and independence
  • Competitive advantages and a supportive culture that encourages creativity and continuous learning
Work Environment

You’ll work in a small, modern prototype shop focused on custom product creation. The environment is clean, organized, and highly collaborative, with constant interaction between designers, engineers, and machinists.
