Job Summary:

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will machine components for production. Successful candidates will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and adjusting and/or reprogramming control while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Job Duties:

  • Produce parts using CNC Mills and Lathes that conform to engineering blueprints
  • Prepare CNC programs and setup machine
  • Support machine setup and operation personnel
  • Emphasis is placed on a continuous process of improvement
  • Able to adjust offsets and code, if needed, to produce accurate parts
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
  • Placement into Level I, Level II, or Senior will be dependent on past experience, sign off on internal training, and/or the ability to learn additional equipment in the shop
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Machining Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
  • Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year degree in machining, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a setter/machinist in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of G&M codes
  • Must be able to work in a Team environment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience with HAAS CNC mills is an asset
  • Ability to machine all types of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, and plastics)
  • Must be able to read precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, depth gages)
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must have good math skills
  • Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Hourly Wage: $24-$30 based on experience
