Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate plasma cutting machines, ensuring accurate cuts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
  • Program CNC plasma tables using CAD/CAM software to optimize cutting paths and improve efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plasma tables and related equipment to minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and technical specifications for fabrication projects
  • Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection of finished parts
  • Fabricate components using various tools such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, welding equipment, and stamping presses
  • Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move sheet metal, raw materials, or finished products within the facility
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts meet specifications and standards
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and tooling adjustments as needed

Qualifications
  • Proven experience operating plasma cutting machinery within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Strong knowledge of CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, and machining processes including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM)
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with welding techniques and sheet metal fabrication
  • Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measurement instruments accurately
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to crane operation, tool handling, and machine operation
  • Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality control checks
  • Mechanical aptitude with a focus on tooling setup, fabrication techniques, and troubleshooting machinery issues
