Job description

Swiss CNC Operator

Mace Machine LLC – Exeter, New Hampshire

Mace Machine is seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Operator to operate Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines and produce high-quality precision components. This position does not require programming experience; however, the ability to make minor program edits is a plus.

We are a growing precision machine shop specializing in small-diameter components for the aerospace, defense, RF/microwave, electronics, and other demanding industries. Our work is varied and technically challenging, with a strong emphasis on quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate Citizen Swiss-style CNC machines
  • Load bar stock and monitor bar feeders and machine operation
  • Follow established programs, setup sheets, work instructions, and job travelers
  • Perform routine tool changes and replace worn or damaged inserts
  • Make tool offsets and dimensional adjustments based on inspection results
  • Monitor parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and visual defects
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Record inspection results and complete required production documentation
  • Identify and communicate tooling, dimensional, or machine-performance issues
  • Assist with machine setups and changeovers based on experience
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Support efforts to improve quality, productivity, and process consistency
  • Follow all quality, safety, FOD, and material-handling requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience operating Swiss-style CNC machines or similar CNC equipment
  • Experience with Citizen machines and FANUC or Mitsubishi controls is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and basic GD&T
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, gage pins, optical inspection equipment, and other precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to make tool offsets and routine machine adjustments
  • Ability to recognize tool wear, dimensional changes, and production problems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow established processes and maintain accurate records
  • Dependability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to produce accurate, repeatable work with limited supervision

Experience making minor CNC program edits is a plus but is not required. Experience in aerospace, defense, or an AS9100 manufacturing environment is also beneficial but not required.
