Job description

Do you have experience working on a residential construction site. We're looking for a skilled and reliable Operator to join our team in Portage La Prairie. The Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of residential construction equipment including bobcat, zoom boom/telehandler and skid steer. The role is responsible to maintain and organize the site when storing and unloading materials. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a physically demanding environment and have great attention to detail.
 

Your contributions to the team: 
  • Complete pre-shift inspections on equipment as well as basic servicing which includes checking the fluids, greasing and cleaning the machine
  • Maintain and organize the site when storing and unloading materials
  • Operate equipment safely without damaging equipment, material or structures
  • Operate zoom boom/telehandler and skid steer to lift, move and place materials
  • Assist the site administrator or shipper/receiver when needed with counting any materials or product including noting of damages or short shipped items, collect packing slips or purchase orders from vendors
What you need to be successful:
  • 2 years’ experience in residential construction
  • Experience operating a zoom boom and skid steer
  • Ability to ensure quality and safety of all work performed
  • Willingness and ability to perform physical labour duties
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
