H. Loeb Corporation is a job-shop manufacturer in the Dartmouth / New Bedford area of Massachusetts. We diecut, CNC route, and produce custom foam packaging, primarily for the lighting industry. We're ISO 9001:2015 certified, owner-led, and have reinvested over $2 million into equipment since 2008. We're growing — 20 to 30 percent a year — and we hire people who want to grow with us.

The role

We’re hiring CNC operators at two levels right now — Level 1 (Basic, $17–$20/hour) for candidates new to CNC or to CNC Routers, and Level 2 (Intermediate, $21–$24/hour) for experienced operators who can run jobs independently and program at a basic level. You don’t need to pick one when you apply — tell us what you’ve done and we’ll match you to the right level in the interview.

You’ll work on our Routers (ShopSabre, Gerber), Zünd Cutter, and Atom CNC, cutting plastics, foam, and rubber primarily for the lighting industry. We have a defined three-level career path that goes from Basic ($17) all the way to Advanced ($25+) — so where you start is not where you stay.

What the work looks like

• Set up and operate CNC machines: load the job, run the machine, inspect parts, remove finished work.
• Read drawings, use calipers, hit the tolerances customers require.
• Maintain machines, keep your workspace clean, manage dust collection.
• Stop the machine when something’s wrong — don’t run through a problem.
• At Level 1: workholding with vacuum hold-down and double-sided tape (PSA), change bits and initialize the machine, do continuous inspection during a run.
• At Level 2: program in VCarve, create Gerber .plt files, troubleshoot independently, calculate feeds and speeds, run two machines at once on long-run jobs (Polylok, TMC holes), workholding with PSA, tabs, and onion-skins.

What you need to bring

• For Level 1: high school diploma, able to read a tape measure (to 1/16") and do basic shop math, able to lift 50 lbs, and willing to learn. No CNC experience required.
• For Level 2: 3+ years CNC operator experience (ideally on Routers), confident with calipers and drawings with tolerances, comfortable troubleshooting and programming at a basic level.

Preferred (for either level)

• Any CNC experience — Routers, ShopSabre, Gerber, Zünd, Atom CNC.
• VCarve, Artpath, or Composer programming experience (Level 2 plus).
• Construction or trades background. Construction experience counts as manufacturing experience here — if you’ve framed houses, finished trim, or worked on a job site, you already know how to read a tape, work with your hands, and follow a plan. Many of the best CNC operators come from the trades.
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience.
• ISO 9001 environment experience.
• Forklift experience.

Physical requirements

• Comfortably lift and carry 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.
• On your feet most of the day in a manufacturing environment.
• Use of hands and fine motor control for measurement and machine adjustment.
• Comfortable working around dust, machine noise, and moving equipment.
