Job description

Position Summary

The CNC Machining Center Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining centers to ensure efficient and high-quality production, while also performing routine inspections and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Pay Range: $27.00 to $32.00 commensurate with experience.
  • 1st shift position
  • Ability to choose the start time of your regularly scheduled shift (within specified range).

Responsibilities

  • Load, set up, and operate CNC machining center to process metal materials according to technical drawings and production requirements.
  • Select and load appropriate CNC programs, set machine parameters.
  • Run production programs, monitor machine operation for tool wear or misalignment, and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain part quality and efficiency
  • Input or adjust machine settings (tool offsets, speeds, feeds, depths of cut) as required.
  • Lift workpieces to machines manually or with hoists.
  • Perform secondary operations as required.
  • Perform dimensional inspections, monitor machine performance, and ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.

  • 3-5 years of CNC milling machine experience in a work environment or vocational training environment.
  • Horizontal machining center experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of CNC controls and G-code adjustments (offsets, tool changes), plus familiarity with shop math for feeds, speeds, and dimensions.
  • Ability to use and read precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials (often up to 40โ€“50 lbs), and work safely around industrial machinery.
  • High level of precision and focus to ensure quality and efficiency.
