Job description

New Tech Global is currently seeking a 2 Axis Lathe Machinist for an oil and gas client in Tulsa, OK.
Job Summary

We are seeking a DayShift CNC Machinist to support a valve and plunger production line in Tulsa, OK. This role is responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machining equipment, including lathes and milling machines. The organization prioritizes employee safety, professional development, innovation, and customer service. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, produce quality parts using CNC machinery, including lathes and milling machines
  • Set up, operate, and inspect parts to ensure conformance with specifications, close tolerances, and efficiency standards
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequences, and setup requirements
  • Measure and mark material and workpieces as guides for machining operations
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machines within capability to maintain quality; report malfunctions to supervision
  • Assist with complex plant operating problem resolution and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Operate forklifts and lifting devices for material and part movement
  • Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, quality, and shop personnel to resolve machining or quality issues
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas and perform basic preventative maintenance
  • Enforce all company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2-3 years of experience operating CNC machines (lathes and mills) in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and geometric tolerancing
  • Strong math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra

Technical Competencies
  • Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, ID & OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales
  • Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts used in CNC machining operations

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, talk, and hear
  • Occasional walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial vehicles
  • Noise level is typically moderate
