HiFyve is hiring 1st Shift CNC Machinists in the Precision Manufacturing industry

Salary: $30+/hour depending on experience

Location: Fridley, MN

Shift Schedule

1st Shift:

Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Position Summary

This role supports precision machining operations by setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality machined components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates will work with tight-tolerance parts while maintaining quality and production standards.

Strong CNC setup and programming experience is required. Candidates must have hands-on experience performing complete setups on CNC horizontal mills, including tooling, workholding, offsets, program selection/editing, and machine adjustments. This is a requirement for the position.

Candidates with strong setup, programming, troubleshooting, and leadership experience are preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
  • Perform full CNC setups on horizontal milling machines
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment
  • Load and verify tooling, workholding, offsets, and programs
  • Make program edits and machine adjustments as needed
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
  • Produce tight-tolerance components while maintaining quality and production standards
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Assist in resolving machining issues and improving production processes
  • Provide guidance and support to other machinists as needed
  • Maintain reliable attendance and meet production expectations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Strong CNC setup and programming experience REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated experience performing complete/full setups on CNC horizontal mills REQUIRED
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of CNC tooling, workholding, offsets, and setup procedures
  • Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and equipment issues
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Previous leadership experience or demonstrated leadership abilities preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

IMPORTANT: Candidates must have hands-on experience completing full setups on CNC horizontal mills. Setup experience is a required qualification for this position.
