Job description

Description:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist

This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery to produce precision tooling components. This position also ensures proper tooling, programming, and machining practices are followed to achieve quality and efficiency. Position will support foundry tooling and patternmaking operations through machining expertise.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform machine set-ups independently, ensuring accuracy and efficiency

  • Set up and manage tooling for machining operations

  • Run and monitor multiple machines as needed

  • Operate micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify accuracy.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure production quality and timeliness.

Competencies:

  • Advanced CNC machining knowledge and skills.

  • Experience with multi-axis machining and various control systems.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Commitment to quality and precision work.

  • Strong teamwork, organized, and planning abilities.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing at machining centers and workbenches, frequent walking in shop

  • Frequent use of CNC machines, hand tools, and measuring instruments requiring repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers

  • Regular talking and hearing for communication in team setting

  • Required to lift, move, and position tooling, parts, and equipment

  • Bending, kneeling, and reaching to access machinery and parts

  • Work performed primarily in shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, oils, and temp variations

  • Appropriate PPE is required according to company policy.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years CNC machining experience

  • Horizontal 4-axis and 5-axis machining experience preferred

  • Experience with Mazatrol, G-code programming

  • AutoDesk PowerShape/PowerMill/CAD Programming experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong planning and organizational skills
