Job Summary:

Panelmatic Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled CNC Machine Operator. The CNC Machine Operator produces a variety of sheet metal parts, which meet dimensional requirements. Set up and align parts per shop prints in preparation for CNC operations, and final fabrication assembly. Working either individually, or as part of a small team to produce metal buildings and enclosures.

Job Duties:

  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct a specified structure; develop additional sketches if needed.
  • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
  • Load and unload raw materials and equipment, set up and calibrate accessories, and program the CNC machine
  • Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Measures and cuts according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.
  • Perform assigned work such as punching holes for screws or bending.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, and shears.
  • Coordinates require shutdowns and startups of equipment.
  • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs
  • Maintains clean and orderly workspace
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Notify the lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area each day and returns tools to their proper locations
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on the CNC machine

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Two plus years of CNC experience required
  • Two plus years of experience in forklift operating required
  • Two plus years of experience in the use basic tools (squares, clamps, fillet gauge, angle grinder, etc.) required
  • Two plus years of experience in shear, brake press, turret punch, band saw, grinder, ratchet straps, and other hand tools required
  • Two plus years of experience in applicable QAPs (Quality Assurance Procedures) required
  • High levels of organizational and time management skills required
  • High levels of analytical, observational, and active listening skills required
  • High levels of reliability required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to stoop and bend required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
  • Ability to read a tape measure and prints required
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and utilize conversion charts required
  • Excellent manual dexterity required
