What We Are Looking For:
A CNC Router and CNC Plasma machine operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a CNC router for aluminum and soft materials and well as a CNC plasma table for steel, and other materials for large and small parts. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, can read blueprints, and understand how to optimize material yields through smart nesting techniques.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Primary responsibilities include reading prints and work orders to determine specifications of parts and then creating and effectively nesting into programs for the CNC.
  • Reads and interprets specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed
  • Verifies dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge of basic math functions to order materials.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Computes dimensions and tolerances and measures and lays out work pieces
  • Adjusts and sets up machine tools for use by machining tool operators
  • Be able to complete basic upkeep on machines such as lubricating, blade replacing, and other small adjustments.

  • Must comply with all LBT, Inc., safety policies, practices and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Must be able to work well alone or with partners, depending on need. Fabricator must be able to work closely with Supervisors, department leads, Engineers, Production Coordinator (scheduler) and warehouse personnel.

  • Must practice good housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized environment.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Be able to do basic upkeep on machines such as lubricating, blade replacing, and other small adjustments.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools
