CNC Machine Operator
Location: Newport News, VA
Shift: (1st shift) Monday - Friday; 7am - 3:30pm OR (2nd shift) Monday - Friday 2nd 3pm - 11:30pm
Type: contract-to-hire
About the Company:
Our Client designs and manufactures state of the art aircraft systems and components for the aerospace industry, with a niche in helicopter rotor system and prop blade development.
Responsibilities and Functions:
- Follow operating procedures, engineering instructions, and other recognized methods of instructions.
- Able to read blueprints or written specifications to calculate operations.
- Use Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) cutting machines and precision measuring tools.
- Monitors machine operation, identifies basic issues, and communicates concerns to Machine Supervisor or Engineering
- Follows established QC processes and reports defective materials, tooling, or equipment immediately.
- Assists machinists and engineers with shop tasks, fixturing, tool organization, and workflow support.
- Helps maintain documentation, setup sheets, and work instructions as directed.
