  • Our current vacancy is for our Crankshaft Salvage department

  • Perform salvage techniques on a variety of machines which may include horizontal Lathes and Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, and Surface Grinders; basic operation of CNC equipment (Mills and Lathes)

  • Candidates with experience operating manual lathes are of particular interest, but not required

  • Maintain and clean equipment as required

  • Maintain Caterpillar contamination control initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Machinist Journeyperson ticket, or interprovincial Red Seal, is required

  • Multiple years' working experience and competency in a crank, block salvage or machine shop

  • Experience operating horizontal and vertical Lathes, Radial Arm Drills, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders, and Plate Sanding is preferred

  • Experience/proficiency with CNC Mills and Lathes (reading and writing CNC programs) is preferred

  • Portable Line Boring experience is preferred

  • Must have accurate documentation and measuring skills

  • Must be able to understand salvage specifications and related technical documentation, including technical drawings

  • Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively

  • Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds

  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures

Note:

  • We are currently hiring for a static afternoon shift, Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per shift

  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

  • Hourly Rate: $53.05 / Hour + night shift premium

  • Defined Contribution Pension Plan with company matching
