Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The CNC Setup/Program is responsible to lead and mentor all machine operators in setups and machine utilization in addition to programming, program editing on all CNC machines. This Key Role will Lead all production support activities, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement and will be a targeted effort to help establish Lean Manufacturing through best practices to promote efficient Turnaround Time (TAT), helping to define the future state of Arcmed production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Programming, program selection, and program editing on CNC milling and multi-axis turning centers.
  • Interpret engineering drawings to manufacture parts using CNC machinery.
  • Set up all machining equipment as required and mentor team members accordingly.
  • Ability to make correct tool selection for parts manufacture.
  • Demonstrate ability to process work orders independently or with minimal instructions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Identify quality, process, machinery, or equipment defects.
  • Delegate Operator tasks, set clear team performance expectations and target production dates through scheduling.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation, promote Safety and 5S work environment.
  • Improve the operational quality output of parts and work hands on with the quality department to improve scrap rate and reduce rejected parts output.
  • Monitor team performance, tablet usage and reporting in Machine Metrics Program.
  • Implement continual training for teammates (temps and permanent).
  • Participate in company training courses, safety, and project onsite.
  • Troubleshoot equipment when there is a problem.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Resolve problems and make routine recommendations.
  • Work as directed by Manager.


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICIATIONS, and TRAININGS

  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees, and customers.
  • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments.

  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
  • Well-developed literacy, numeracy, and computer skills with a technical aptitude.


COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

  • CNC Machining and Setup
  • CNC Programming, manual edits to current programs as needed.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Ability to grasp technology quickly.
  • Experience with Epicor a plus.
  • Microsoft: Office 365; SharePoint; Teams; Visio; and OneNote preferred.
  • Ability to operate media equipment such as tablets, smartphones, and other electronic equipment.
  • Ability to work with general office equipment.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Shall have essential physical skills; be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ own body weight).
  • Shall have adequate vision, reading, writing, and documentation skills, and hearing to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must have enough endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
  • Will be engaged in speaking, sitting, walking, driving, listening, and in communicating both orally and in writing while performing his or her duties.
  • Must be able to listen and respond to questions and instructions.
