Job description

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions.
Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation.
Operational knowledge of injection molding machines is preferred.
Operational knowledge of compounders, and related equipment preferred.
Must become forklift certified.
Responsibilities:
Make batches of resins using detailed formulations and mix sheets, including pre-blending of materials.
Accurately fills ribbon blender/drum tumbler with ingredients and amounts indicated on pre-blend formulation sheets.
Perform start-up, shutdown, and maintenance of 40mm and 60mm compounder lines, and Water System.
Weigh, package, and label finished product according to work order specifications.
Perform production maintenance on compounder, pellitizer, dryer, and water system.
Disassemble compounder for screen changes and screen cleaning.
Troubleshoot equipment problems.
Operate and maintain associated equipment as required for production of compound.
Sample compound and mold ASTM slabs for each work order as specified.
Inspect the product for visual defects and initiate corrective actions as required.
Enter data in CMPC Program.
Assist in training other employees performing similar tasks on the proper techniques and procedures in order to produce defect free parts.
Communicate with the other shifts, if applicable, the status of parts, equipment and any other matters that night have an impact on their job.
Perform other related tasks, not limited to, but includes performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.
Observe all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.
Correctly fill out all time reporting forms and all other related paperwork including, but not limited to, manufacturing forms, work order documentation, stock movement tickets, scrap tickets, identification tags, etc.
Other related duties as management deems necessary.
Requires walking, primarily on a level surface through out the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.
This position is in a production environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels are generally loud and temperatures may vary. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals, depending on areas accessed.
