Barista- Kansas City Community CollegeConsolidated Management is partnering with Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC). CMC is seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Barista to join our Campus Dining Services team. The Barista will prepare and serve coffee and other beverages, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and provide excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position supports the college’s mission by fostering a positive campus experience through high-quality food and beverage service.
Full Time
Pay: $18 - $20 an hour (pay based on prior work experience)
Monday - Friday from 730am - 230pm
CMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Barista to join our Food Services team. Ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing quality drinks, maintaining a clean and efficient cafe, and providing outstanding service to our students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other café beverages

  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other kitchen equipment

  • Greet customers, take orders accurately, and handle transactions via POS system

  • Ensure a clean and sanitary workspace at all times, including counters, equipment, and seating areas

  • Restock inventory, monitor supply levels, and communicate restocking needs

  • Follow all health and safety regulations and college food service policies

  • Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service

  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Previous customer service or food service experience

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred:
  • Previous barista or café experience

  • Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Work Schedule:
  • Varies depending on campus events and academic calendar
