Job description

Description:

About Crooked Foot

Founded in 2016 by Anthony Mazzali on 400+ acres of pristine Mid-Michigan countryside, Crooked Foot Hunt Club is

a premier upland bird hunting destination — home to European Tower Hunts, walk-up pheasant and chukar fields,

clay shooting, and professional hunting dog training. We're more than a hunt club. We're a place built around family,

legacy, and the belief that getting people outside and into the field is worth doing well.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a boots-on-the-ground leader who can run day-to-day club operations, manage our bird program, and help grow what we've built. This isn't a desk job. It's a rare chance to take real ownership of a growing operatio and be rewarded when it thrives.

This role is an ideal fit for an early-career ag professional ready to step up, a semi-retired outdoorsman looking for meaningful seasonal work, or someone who wants a genuine stake in something they help build.

What You'll Own

Hunt Club & Bird Program

  • Manage the full bird program: sourcing, release schedules, and habitat management
  • Maintain food plots, cover crops, and shelterbelts to keep hunt quality at its best
  • Coordinate guided and unguided hunts; manage the guest experience from booking to field
  • Maintain hunting grounds, blinds, kennels, towers, and equipment

Membership, Sales & Events

  • Actively market and sell hunt club memberships and corporate packages
  • Build relationships with hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and corporate clients
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams: lodging, youth programs, guided tours, and more
  • Track membership renewals, leads, and conversion rates

Grounds & Facilities

  • Oversee field maintenance, crop rotation, and seasonal prep
  • Manage pasture, fencing, and equipment upkeep
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and seasonal staff
  • Ensure responsible land stewardship across all 300+ acres

Administration & Leadership

  • Maintain records for bookings, inventories, and revenue
  • Manage seasonal staff and volunteers during peak periods
  • Report directly to ownership with regular operational updates
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning for the club
Requirements:

Required

  • Experience in agriculture, farm management, or a closely related field
  • Knowledge of pheasant or upland bird management — or a strong drive to learn fast
  • Self-directed work ethic; you don't need to be told twice
  • Comfort with physically demanding, variable schedules during peak seasons
  • Basic sales ability and confidence talking with prospective members and clients
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment

Preferred

  • Hunting license and familiarity with upland bird hunting culture
  • Experience with food plot management, cover crops, or wildlife habitat
  • Prior customer-facing or membership sales experience
  • Connections in the hunting, agriculture, or outdoor recreation community

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

$40,000–$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Paid bi-weekly year-round. Meaningful upside available

through commission and profit-share for the right individual.

Commission & Incentive Structure

Built collaboratively with the right candidate. The plan will reward:

  • Hunt club membership sales — new acquisition and renewal retention
  • Revenue growth — overall operation performance above baseline targets
  • Cost and operational efficiency — keeping margins healthy across all programs

Profit Share

The owner is committed to a genuine profit-share arrangement and structured so that a great year for Crooked Foot is

a great year for the manager. Annual review with no ceiling.

Additional Benefits

  • Hunting privileges on the property
  • Use of property equipment and facilities
