Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Cloud Applications & Infrastructure Lead to support and manage enterprise cloud-based applications and infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, application support, infrastructure operations, and team leadership. This role requires both hands-on technical capabilities and the ability to lead and coordinate onsite and offshore teams supporting critical business applications built on .NET and Java platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the support, maintenance, and optimization of Azure-hosted applications and infrastructure.
  • Manage production support and operational activities for applications developed using .NET and Java technologies.
  • Act as the primary technical lead for Azure cloud operations, infrastructure management, and application support.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams across onsite and offshore locations.
  • Drive incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), problem resolution, and continuous service improvements.
  • Collaborate with development, architecture, security, and business teams to ensure application availability and performance.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure, application health, performance metrics, and capacity requirements.
  • Implement cloud governance, security best practices, and operational excellence standards.
  • Manage deployments, environment configurations, and release coordination activities.
  • Mentor support engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability solutions within Azure.
  • Participate in major incident management and on-call support activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong expertise in cloud application support and infrastructure management.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and managing Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, including:
    • Azure Virtual Machines
    • Azure App Services
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
    • Azure Storage
    • Azure Networking
    • Azure Load Balancers
    • Azure Monitor
    • Azure Log Analytics
    • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
    • Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications built on .NET and Java platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure operations, and application lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience leading distributed teams, including offshore resources.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex application and infrastructure issues.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure certifications such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Azure Administrator Associate
    • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes technologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and mission-critical environments.
