Job Description

Cloud Engineer I is an IT professional responsible for providing the necessary technical assistance to the Cloud Engineering Team. This role will identify and troubleshoot operational issues with relation to cloud applications and services in a timely manner.

Some duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Working with IT teams on a wide variety of support functions including data integration, cloud services and applications
  • Monitoring performance of and alerts for cloud applications, services, and systems
  • Maintain overall Cloud infrastructure (i.e., EC2, SQS, S3, VPC, Lambda etc.)
  • Carry out routine IAM and Key rotation in AWS
  • Perform regular EC2 / Container patching 
  • Support of cloud platform and applications to ensure minimal downtime
  • Working to meet SLAs and escalating issues to the Cloud Services team
  • Partner with the Information Security teams as appropriate 
  • Provide support during off hours and weekends as needed
  • Additional responsibilities as defined by management 
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related field preferred
  • 4-5 years of cloud engineering experience, and must have one or more AWS certifications
  • 5+ years’ experience with infrastructure and networking
  • 1-3 years’ experience administering and managing solutions on AWS/Azure/
  • Strong operating systems knowledge with Windows / Linux
  • Working knowledge of AWS Cognito, AWS DevOps Agent monitoring, Systems Manager for patching, Inventory management with tools such as Tenable
  • Strong Understanding of network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, SMTP, SS, TCP/IP)
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting serverless workloads
  • Knowledge of AWS fargate container services 
  • Strong understanding of cloud storage solutions such as S3, EBS, EFS
  • Previous working experience with monitoring using Cloud Watch & Devops Guru
  • AWS associate certification in one or more areas is required
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash / PowerShell / Ansible
  • Experience deploying Docker / Kubernetes containers
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications
