We are seeking a Senior CloudOps Engineer with deep expertise in Cloud Operations, DevOps practices, and CI/CD tooling. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Ulta Beauty’s cloud‑native platforms, primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Kubernetes, Kubectl, YAML, Shell Scripting, gcloud CLI, and modern DevOps toolchains. You will partner with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to drive automation, improve deployment pipelines, and maintain a resilient cloud ecosystem.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY
  • Cloud Operations: Manage, monitor, and optimize GCP workloads including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and related services. Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes clusters using kubectl, YAML manifests, Helm, and related tooling. Perform upgrades, scaling, cluster maintenance, and workload optimization.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Engineering: Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines supporting automated builds, tests, and deployments. Partner with development teams to ensure smooth, reliable, and secure delivery workflows. Implement automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop automation using shell scripting, Python, and gcloud CLI. Create reusable scripts, templates, and operational tooling to improve efficiency.
  • Monitoring, Observability & Incident Response: Support enterprise observability platforms (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting). Lead incident triage, root cause analysis, and long‑term remediation efforts.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with cross‑functional and offshore teams to guide execution of cloud operations tasks. Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in DevOps and cloud operations.
  • Research: Within given research goals, assists in selection and review of credible and reliable resources to gain an up‑to‑date knowledge of any relevant field. Documents work carried out and may contribute sections of material of publication quality.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support CICD and development tools and pipelines.
  • Supports Monitoring and Observability tooling across the Enterprise.
  • Guide other team members on related best practices.
  • Monitor system and application health.
  • Work with offshore team members to guide and lead them to execute complex projects.
ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or applicable work experience.
  • 5+ years development experience with solid programming abilities including unit testing, debugging and code profiling.
  • Solid understanding of cloud architectures and associated design and development patterns.
  • 2+ years of experience in development on cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with development languages including Bash, SQL, Java, Perl, Groovy, Python or equivalents.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform products such as Kubernetes and Istio.
  • Experience with source control repositories like Git/Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Docker, Jira, Jenkins, or Mongo DB is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; feels comfortable working with non‑technical business partners.
  • Strong analysis/troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be creative, organized, detail oriented, and able to assimilate information quickly.
  • Flexibility of providing support during odd hours, weekends, and peak seasons.
  • Minimal travel required (training/conferences).
PAY RANGE & BENEFITS

The pay range for this position is $106,000.00–$140,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part‑time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
