Description:
As an expert in Cloud computing, supports PAC hybrid computing efforts by using knowledge of cloud computing environments in commercial and government organizations, and relevant cloud computing related academic research. Assist the Government in achieving its cloud computing objectives by providing high-level recommendations and guidance based on expert understanding of Cloud computing technologies and services. 
Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with customer appropriate polygraph).
Capabilities:
  • Thorough understanding of cloud computing technologies and services, and hybrid computing environments, in particular, to include use cases within commercial and government organizations.
  • Understanding of and experience with commercially available cloud computing services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) and emerging cloud services.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud service performance boundaries of AWS, Azure, or similar cloud technologies.
  • Ability to recommend architectural approaches to mitigate any potential cloud service performance boundaries.  
  • Knowledgeable of Cloud security implementation best practices.  
  • Ability to incorporate agency specific security requirements into Cloud design approaches.  
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud financial operations (FinOps) in application design and ability to recommend optimized approaches to manage IT costs.  
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud cost guardrail mechanisms and ability to develop and document guidance for implementation of cost control guardrails.  
  • Ability to redesign legacy applications using a cloud native approach  

Required Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI with Agency Appropriate Polygraph
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty (20) years of IT experience.
OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twelve (12) years of IT experience of which five (5) years must be in the Cloud environment.
OR
  • A Master’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus seven (7) years of IT experience.
OR
  • A PhD in a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years of IT experience. 

Salary Range: $240,000.00 - $250,000.00 (Annually)
Annual Compensation Figures listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; annual hours worked; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location.
