Program Manager, Clinical Simulation

Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) Full-Time

Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC) is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works with healthcare facilities, community-based organizations, families in Colorado, and national partners to advance best practices that reduce disparities and improve outcomes in maternal and infant health.

Role Summary

The Program Manager, Clinical Simulation leads the day-to-day implementation, coordination, and evaluation of CPCQC's simulation-based training portfolio. This is a full-time role responsible for running the operational engine behind CPCQC's live, simulation-based trainings, including managing budgets, partner and site relationships, scheduling and logistics, co-leading trainings, and overseeing data collection and evaluation across these programs.

CPCQC's current simulation portfolio includes, but is not limited to, obstetric emergency readiness training for rural emergency department (ED) and emergency medical service (EMS) teams; oversight and coordination of the AWHONN Obstetric Patient Safety Course; and Respectful Maternal Care simulation training delivered both onsite at the CU Anschutz Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE) and on hospital campuses statewide. The Program Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of these programs, while helping to develop, test, refine, and scale new simulation offerings as the portfolio grows.

The ideal candidate is a skilled healthcare professional with experience coordinating complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. They bring strong organizational and relationship-management skills, budget oversight experience, and foundational evaluation skills including survey development, data reporting, and basic descriptive analysis. Experience in healthcare quality improvement is highly desirable.

Core Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Management

• Lead day-to-day management of CPCQC's simulation training programs, including obstetric emergency readiness for rural ED and EMS teams, Respectful Maternal Care training, and additional simulation initiatives as the portfolio evolves.
• Develop and maintain program work plans, implementation timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple concurrent training initiatives.
• Coordinate and schedule training activities across program phases-pilot implementation, certification development, evaluation, and statewide dissemination-and across delivery sites including the CU Anschutz CAPE center and hospital campuses.
• In collaboration with the Director of Finance and Operations, manage program budgets, including tracking expenditures, monitoring spending against funder requirements, coordinating contracts and reimbursements, and supporting budget reporting.
• In Collaboration with the Clinical Simulation Lead, support development and refinement of clinical readiness tools, resources, training materials, and certification requirements.
• Monitor progress toward each simulation program's goals and identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• In collaboration with the Deputy Director of Education, plan, coordinate, and facilitate the delivery of CE/CME to simulation participants.
• Prepare progress reports and updates for CPCQC leadership, funders, and partners.
• Travel to training sites across Colorado, including rural locations, approximately 1-3 times per quarter; may include overnight travel or extended trips, no longer than a week, depending on location or a regional series of trainings.

Partner, Hospital, and Site Relationships

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for hospitals, health systems, EMS agencies, community partners, and training sites participating in CPCQC simulation programs.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with rural and community hospitals, healthcare providers, and subject matter experts.
• Identify and manage the contacts and outreach records for the appropriate training leaders in each of the facilities.
• Coordinate logistics and scheduling with host sites, including the CU Anschutz CAPE center and on-campus hospital locations.
• Coordinate meetings, workgroups, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Gather and incorporate feedback from partners and participants into program design and implementation.

Training Delivery Support

• Co-lead simulation trainings alongside the Clinical Simulation Lead and clinical trainers, supporting facilitation, set-up, debriefing logistics, and participant experience.
• Manage equipment, materials, and on-site coordination for simulation events.
• Support development of train-the-trainer capacity among participating sites.

Evaluation and Data

• Support the development and implementation of program evaluation plans across the simulation portfolio.
• Design and administer surveys for hospitals, participants, and stakeholders.
• Collect, organize, and manage program performance data.
• Conduct basic descriptive statistical analyses and summarize findings for diverse audiences, including funders and partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, education, or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience managing programs, initiatives, or complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.
• Experience managing or monitoring program budgets.
• Strong organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Experience collecting, managing, and reporting on survey-based data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in healthcare, public health, maternal health, emergency care, rural health, or quality improvement settings.
• Experience supporting hospital-based quality improvement initiatives, facilitating clinical simulation, or leading a unit based/nursing practice council.
• Experience developing surveys and collecting stakeholder feedback.
• Experience conducting basic descriptive statistical analyses and preparing data reports.

Position Details and Compensation

This is a full-time, salaried position based in Colorado. Candidates must reside in Colorado or relocate to Colorado within six months of the hire date at their own expense. While this position is primarily remote, it requires regular travel throughout Colorado to support simulation training and other in-person meetings and events. At a minimum, candidates should expect to travel approximately one week per quarter, with additional travel as needed to support program activities. Because this role leads obstetric emergency simulation training, candidates must be willing and able to travel independently to rural and frontier communities across the state and have reliable transportation.

The annual salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 based on qualifications. This position also includes a benefits package (medical, dental, retirement, FSA), 401k, and unlimited paid time off. Travel, lodging, mileage, and training-related expenses are reimbursed separately.
