SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Senior Analyst (Epidemiologist/Mathematician/Statistician) to support an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

Position Overview Section

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to support the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). This position plays a key role in improving the health, readiness, and operational performance of the U.S. Air Force by conducting advanced statistical analyses and translating complex military and health data into actionable insights.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze large healthcare, personnel, and operational datasets, develop statistical models, produce technical publications, and present findings to senior leadership and scientific audiences.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, conduct, and lead analyses of military health surveillance, personnel, operational, and readiness data.
  • Perform statistical analyses using SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide to evaluate health outcomes, operational performance, and risk factors.
  • Develop and validate statistical models that support Air Force research, readiness, and force health protection initiatives.
  • Retrieve, integrate, clean, and organize complex datasets from multiple military data repositories.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries, data mappings, and database documentation.
  • Perform validation and quality assurance of analytical models and datasets.
  • Prepare technical reports, white papers, scientific manuscripts, presentations, and executive briefings.
  • Present research findings at government meetings and professional conferences.
  • Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, clinicians, researchers, and military stakeholders.
  • Document analytical methodologies and programming code in accordance with USAFSAM standards.
  • Assist with knowledge transfer and communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Obtain and maintain required permissions for access to protected military and healthcare data.
  • Support publication of research in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Master's degree (MPH, MS) or PhD in:
    • Biostatistics
    • Statistics
    • Data Science
    • Epidemiology
    • Public Health (with quantitative emphasis)
    • Mathematics
    • or a closely related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing statistical analyses in a healthcare, public health, military, or government environment.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and leading analyses using healthcare, surveillance, or operational datasets.
  • Strong proficiency with:
    • SAS
    • SAS Enterprise Guide
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality products requiring minimal revision.
  • Ability to obtain access to military databases and complete HIPAA training.
  • Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to performance.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Board Certification in Public Health (for Public Health applicants).
  • Seven or more years of experience in health analytics.
  • Experience working with DoD, Air Force, or military healthcare data.
  • Experience leading technical teams or supervising analytical staff.
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • Python
    • R
    • Tableau
    • SAS Viya
    • Qualtrics
    • Envision
