Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Incumbent works in conjunction with physician in patient rooms to preform non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Outpatient experience
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
  • Experience in an Ophthalmology practice
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
