Job description

Job Summary:
Medpace is a full-service clinical contract research organization (CRO) focused on accelerating the global development of safe and effective medical therapeutics. The AI Data Scientist will support and lead data flow, advanced analytical needs, and AI tools across the company, working collaboratively with various teams to identify AI opportunities and develop innovative data solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Explore and work with different data sources to collate into knowledge;
• Work with different business teams across the company with a variety of different business needs to identify potential areas that AI can support;
• Manage the process of working through AI potentials from discovery research to PoC to production with the business teams and supporting tasks for IT developers;
• Try out different AI tools to substantiate the potential of its use with the business team;
• Translate results into compelling visualizations which illustrate the overall benefits of the use of AI and identify with the business team the overall value of its use;
• Develop and map database architecture of methodological and clinical data systems;
• Convert business tasks into meaningful developer Jira tasks for sprints;
• Support departmental process improvement initiatives that can include AI;
• Participate in training and development of more junior team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree or higher in informatics, computer science/engineering, health information, statistics, or related field required
• 2 or more years of experience as a Data Scientist or closely related
• Experience applying machine learning to pharmaceutical or clinical data (or translatable artificial intelligence [ai] techniques from other industries)
• Advanced computer programming skills (preferred language: Python)
• Analytical thinker with great attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks within tight timelines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
