Job description

The Clinical Marketing Liaison serves as the primary relationship builder between Michigan Sports and Spine Center and referral partners, including physicians, surgeons, hospitals, therapy providers, and community organizations. This role blends clinical understanding with strategic outreach to educate partners on services, strengthen referral pipelines, and ensure seamless coordination between external stakeholders and internal clinical teams.


The ideal candidate is clinically knowledgeable, highly professional, relationship-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to communicate complex clinical services in a clear, compelling manner.


Key ResponsibilitiesReferral & Relationship Management
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with referring providers, clinics, hospitals, therapy groups, and community partners
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for referral sources, ensuring timely communication and follow-up
  • Conduct regular in-person and virtual visits to referral partners to educate on services and clinical outcomes
Clinical Education & Marketing
  • Educate referral partners on Michigan Sports and Spine Center's services, providers, treatment pathways, and patient benefits
  • Present clinical programs, outcomes, and differentiators in a professional, compliant manner
  • Support launch of new services, providers, or locations through targeted outreach initiatives
Care Coordination Support
  • Act as a liaison between referral sources and internal clinical teams to support smooth transitions of care
  • Assist with referral troubleshooting, scheduling coordination, and communication gaps as needed
  • Ensure referral partners understand workflows, documentation requirements, and points of contact
Strategic Growth & Reporting
  • Identify market opportunities, referral trends, and growth opportunities within assigned territory
  • Track outreach activity, referral volume, and relationship engagement metrics
  • Provide regular reports and insights to leadership regarding market feedback and growth performance
Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Ensure all marketing and outreach activities comply with HIPAA, Stark Law, and healthcare marketing regulations
  • Maintain professional conduct that reflects the mission, values, and reputation of the organization
QualificationsRequired
  • Clinical background preferred (e.g., Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Nurse, or similar) OR strong healthcare marketing/referral experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare outreach, clinical liaison, or provider relations
  • Strong understanding of musculoskeletal, orthopedic, pain management, or spine services preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a territory independently
Preferred
  • Experience working with orthopedic practices, therapy providers, hospitals, or physician groups
  • Familiarity with referral workflows, EMRs, and healthcare operations
  • Sales or business development experience in a healthcare setting
