Location: Princeton, US - Hybrid

Job Overview:
The insurance industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by new technologies, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, cloud platforms and rapidly evolving customer and partner ecosystems. As part of this transformation, Munich Re is strengthening its Enterprise Architecture capability to define and evolve the future business, data and technology landscape.
As an Enterprise Architect, you will define and maintain a holistic enterprise architecture vision that enables Munich Re's strategic objectives, supports new insurance business models, improves operational efficiency, and maximises the value of technology and data investments. Working across business, information, data, application, and technology domains, you will create architecture strategies, target states, and transformation roadmaps to accelerate AI and digital transformation, improve reuse, and support wider business ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement Enterprise Architecture Strategy - Establish architecture principles, standards, and target states aligned with the business strategy, translating business priorities into capability, data, and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead Application & Technology Transformation - Optimise the application landscape by reducing complexity, addressing technical debt, defining target architectures, and guiding transformation roadmaps and investments.
  • Shape Data Architecture & Data Transformation - Define enterprise data architecture, governance, and data strategies to enable analytics, AI, automation, and data-driven insurance capabilities.
  • Support Insurance Business Transformation - Support future insurance models through architecture solutions for digital platforms, embedded insurance, delegated authority, AI-enabled underwriting, and advanced risk capabilities.
  • Drive Enterprise Alignment & Collaboration - Partner with business leaders, Business Architects, Data Architects, and Technology teams to connect strategic objectives with practical transformation outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Technology Strategy, or large-scale transformation roles.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise transformation initiatives within complex global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A strategic thinker able to connect business outcomes with technology and data opportunities.
  • Comfortable operating across business and IT boundaries.
  • Able to simplify complex problems and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
  • Experienced in influencing architecture decisions across multiple teams and geographies.

The Company is open to considering candidates in Princeton, NJ. The salary range posted below applies to the Company's Princeton location.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $141,800 - $207,900plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for candidates hired in this position in Princeton. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
