We are seeking a Principal Seller to add to our growing Energy Asset Development team in Texas. This role will develop large more complex infrastructure solutions by aligning with client leadership and building strategies to achieve agreed-upon objectives. Business Development
  • Builds and owns market strategies focusing on larger institutional clients.
  • Develops and communicates SWOT analysis, competitive analysis and vertical market and horizontal offering strategies.
  • A hunter mindset with vision and ability to land larger contracts that include financial/technical complexity.
  • Facilitates team selling through coordination of financial, legal, accounting, and technical SME's and engaging of McKinstry Executives when appropriate.
  • Maintains robust opportunity pipeline and sales forecast.
  • Proactively identifies and communicates potential business risk elements and leads mitigation strategies and efforts.
  • Provides feedback on processes, standards, and communication channels to increase efficiency.

Client Relations
  • Builds and maintains relationships with client leadership and decision-makers, industry leaders, targeted channel partners, associations and organizations in regional or vertical markets.
  • Acts as the client's single point of accountability during sales and development efforts.
  • Provides client support to align key stakeholders, marshals McKinstry resources, and provides technical, financial, and legal support to move deals to contract.
  • Technical seller, guiding clients through alignment and vision development, and the building of a strategic roadmap to solve the client's larger problems and achieve key client objectives.
  • Utilizes McKinstry's tools and processes to support our customer relationship and account management strategies.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
  • Senior leader from higher education or healthcare preferred with high business acumen and understanding of unique deal structures.
  • Advanced training (MBA) or experience in leadership approaches and financial/operational management of large organizations.
  • Knowledge of building systems, energy infrastructure, facility management, and governance models required.
  • Working knowledge of procurement mechanisms as it pertains to contracting methods such as Performance Contracting, Energy as a Service, PPPs and PPAs preferred.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years' experience in financial selling, executive selling or performance contracting. Includes previous leadership, sales, and marketing with an energy services or energy asset development organization, with responsibilities for identifying leads, closing sales, and providing oversight to project development and implementation teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TEAMs required; working knowledge of Salesforce and SharePoint preferred.

The pay range for this position is $153,400 - $229,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
