Job Description:

The Materials Integration Specialist creates accurate Bills of Materials, prepares quotes, and ensures material readiness for production. Utilizing engineering requirements, this role is the source of truth for part and material specifications and initiates the job lifecycle before handoff to the Scheduler. Ensure that all production systems have accurate pricing, inventory accuracy and product fulfillment.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate BOMs in Epicor with correct materials, part numbers, and configurations.
  • Prepare and submit quotes through multi-level buyoff.
  • Work with engineering to confirm design readiness before BOM release.
  • Track and update BOMs during prototyping and production.
  • Coordinate with sourcing on material lead times and availability.
  • Communicate material or BOM issues that may affect schedules.
  • Critical analysis of parts and processes to maintain an accurate Bill of Materials
  • Track the preliminary Bill of Materials through the engineering and prototyping phase to maintain accuracy
  • Integrate the Add/Delete parts list and work closely with the materials team
  • Auditing inventory to ensure accuracy
  • Provide additional support and conduct special projects as determined by the General Manager/Director.
  • Liaison between materials and engineering departments

Communication Responsibilities

· With Production Supervisor: Notify of material issues affecting floor work; confirm part substitutions.

· With Scheduler: Share material readiness updates; confirm feasibility before job scheduling.

· With CAD Engineer: Align on specifications, part numbers, and design changes that affect BOM.

· With Quality Lead: Ensure materials meet required certifications and standards.

· With Director: Coordinate quote approvals and strategic cost adjustments.

Meeting Cadence

· Daily Standup: Participate; report material readiness and any risks.

· Weekly Planning: Confirm BOM completion and materials availability for upcoming jobs.

· Quote discussion (As Needed): Discuss new and upcoming quotes, coordinate with production, Scheduling, and Engineering

· Daily Gemba: Review production communication boards, communicate with each lead, keep material and shop supply goal metrics updated and answer to shifts

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office conditions (heat and air-condition), up and down stairs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
