Job description

About Charm
Our mission is to return the atmosphere to 280 ppm CO₂. We convert excess inedible biomass into carbon-rich bio-oil and inject it into underground storage for permanent carbon removal. At scale, we can use bio-oil to make fossil-free iron.
Our carbon removal efforts began in 2020 with initial purchases from customers like Stripe, Shopify, and Microsoft. Since then, we've scaled to thousands of tons of carbon removal, grown to over a hundred employees, and established three locations in San Francisco, Colorado, and Louisiana.
We're expanding our team of ambitious, creative, and hands-on problem solvers. We value psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning. We take calculated risks and treat mistakes as opportunities to improve. If you're excited about tackling big challenges, we encourage you to explore our company values.
Come help us reverse climate change. Gigatons or bust!
About the Role
Charm is growing fast, and reaching gigaton-scale carbon removal depends on bringing in exceptional people across every part of the company.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist owns full lifecycle recruitment across Charm's teams - from field operations and engineering to corporate functions - partnering closely with hiring managers to design and execute recruitment plans that attract high-quality talent in a competitive climate tech and hardware market. You'll pair creative sourcing across diverse platforms with strong recruiting fundamentals to build robust candidate pipelines, deliver an exceptional candidate experience, and drive timely, effective hiring outcomes. You'll also help improve our internal recruiting processes and partner with the People Team to process talent management transactions.
This is a temp-to-permanent role with an initial 6-month period, reporting to the Sr. People Operations Manager and sitting on the People Team. You'll work hand-in-hand with hiring managers across all functions at Charm.
Your Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and conduct full lifecycle recruitment, applying a high-touch service approach and adapting as roles and priorities evolve.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and execute strategic recruitment plans and build strong, diverse candidate pipelines.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality interview guides are used across all teams and functions.
  • Coach hiring leaders on talent acquisition best practices that align with Charm's mission, values and our commitment to building a diverse team.
  • Respond to and resolve candidate questions throughout the process, and coordinate interview logistics and scheduling.
  • Interpret and explain federal and state employment regulations and internal guidelines, ensuring every phase of hiring stays compliant.
  • Document processes and keep recruiting resources current and participate in projects that improve the candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Collaborate across People Team functions and partnering departments to process talent management transactions and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Build knowledge of Charm's technology, open roles, and climate tech hiring trends to deliver high-touch service to candidates and hiring managers.
  • You'll be expected to be onsite 50% of the time

You Bring
  • 3-5 years of experience in talent acquisition with a focus on Engineering and Manufacturing specific roles
  • Experience in high volume recruiting.
  • Proficient in full-cycle recruiting, employing various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Strong proficiency in leveraging social media, and professional networks.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Talent Solutions for proactive candidate sourcing.
  • Documentation skills and ability to stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Strong communication and partnering skills, with the ability to coach and influence hiring managers.
  • Analytical and critical thinking, with sound judgment applying employment regulations and internal guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and comfort multi-tasking in a fast-paced, ever-changing, ambiguous environment.
  • Genuine excitement about Charm's mission to reverse climate change.

Bonus, if you Bring
  • Experience recruiting in climate tech, energy, manufacturing, or another high-growth startup environment.
  • Familiarity with an applicant tracking system such as Lever.

$61,000 - $92,000 a year
What We Offer
  • Equity ownership through stock options
  • 100% employee healthcare premiums covered
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with multiple plan options
  • Employer-funded HSA contributions for eligible HDHP plans
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) with a 50% match on contributions up to 6%
  • Paid leave, including parental and medical leave
  • PPE and workwear allowances
  • Annual professional development stipend
  • Employee recognition programs that celebrate impactful work and team contributions

Visa Sponsorship Policy
Since we are a small startup, certain accommodations for visa sponsorship may not be within our capability. At this time, Charm Industrial is only sponsoring E3 and TN visas.
Our Commitment
Charm Industrial is an equal opportunity employer. We hire based on skills, experience, and passion for our mission. Climate challenges require a wide range of perspectives and expertise, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. We're excited to grow our team with people who bring unique strengths and help us improve as a company.
At Charm, we may use AI-enabled tools to support certain aspects of the hiring process, including organizing candidate information and highlighting experience that may be relevant to a particular role. In a world where AI-assisted resumes, synthetic content, and deepfakes are increasingly common, these tools help our team navigate the process thoughtfully and efficiently. Every application and resume is reviewed by a member of our hiring team, and hiring decisions are made by people, not algorithms. Our recruiting process is designed to ensure candidates are evaluated fairly, consistently, and in alignment with our equal employment opportunity commitments. AI tools support our team's work, but they do not replace human judgment or determine hiring outcomes.
