This role resides within the Client Solutions Group in Goldman Sachs Asset Management's (GSAM) Client Business and is dedicated to supporting the firm's Retail Insurance distribution channel.
Retail Insurance Regional Consultants partner closely with Insurance Channel Regional Directors, National Accounts, and internal sales teams to help develop and strengthen relationships with Variable Annuity platforms and Insurance Company-affiliated Broker/Dealer partners. The primary focus of the role is to support advisor engagement and execution by helping position relevant GSAM investment solutions across insurance-affiliated networks.

Retail Insurance Regional Consultants sit within GSAM's Client Solutions Group (CSG) and play a critical role in supporting the firm's Insurance distribution strategy. RCs partner closely with Insurance Channel Regional Directors and internal coverage teams to help build and deepen relationships with Variable Annuity platforms and insurance-affiliated broker/dealers, while engaging financial advisors to understand their practices and client needs. The team helps position GSAM's investment solutions across major asset classes - including fixed income, equities, and alternatives - through disciplined advisor profiling, investment communication, and consistent sales execution.
RESPONSIBILTIEIS AMD QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
  • Conduct proactive telephone and virtual sales presentations to top-tier clients and prospects within insurance-affiliated distribution, highlighting GSAM's investment products, market views, and value proposition
  • Partner closely with Insurance Channel Regional Directors and internal coverage teams to support execution of a defined territory strategy and advance sales opportunities across Variable Annuity platforms and insurance-affiliated broker/dealers
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with financial advisors primarily through telephone and virtual engagement, with focused in-person support as appropriate
  • Effectively profile advisors to understand their practices, client base, and investment process in order to identify needs and appropriately position Goldman Sachs investment solutions
  • Provide portfolio construction guidance and practice management support to advisors, helping them deliver better client outcomes and grow their businesses
  • Execute consistent, high-quality follow-up with advisors to advance the sales process and deepen relationships
  • Demonstrate disciplined, organized, and effective territory management, pipeline development, and sales execution on a consistent basis

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • At least 2 years' successful sales experience
  • General financial service industry experience
  • Strong understanding of the Defined Contribution and/or Recordkeeping marketplace
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Series 7 and Series 63 licensed or obtained within 3 months of joining
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently with others
  • Commercially oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Project management skills
