Job Overview
We are seeking a new Project Manager, Energy and Utilities to join our team at Ardmore Roderick. As a Project Manager, Energy and Utilities, you join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client’s ever evolving project needs.  This opportunity can be located in either our Chicago or Downers Grove, IL office and could have potential to be hybrid depending on the specific client, project and team needs.
Key Responsibilities 
  • Lead all phases of energy and utility EPC projects, ensuring scope, budget and schedule compliance
  • Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Partner with department leadership to manage the quality and schedule performance of projects and programs within the energy and utilities organization
  • Oversee design packages, including calculations, drawings and specifications for power systems
  • Coordinate procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring needs are met and fostering strong relationships
  • Enforce safety compliance, adhering to OSHA, client and industry standards
  • Identify risks, manage scope changes and adjust contracts, budgets and schedules as needed
  • Track KPIs, prepare progress reports and lead stakeholder meetings
  • Provide oversight, direction and coaching to project management teams
  • Ensure deliverables meet client expectations, regulatory requirements and quality standards
  • Assist with RFP responses and business development efforts
  • Take interest in understanding the overall process for the client deliverables and not be afraid to ask questions when clarification is needed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, construction management or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in planning, design and construction of energy systems
  • At least 2 years in project management or team oversight in engineering or construction field
  • Strong collaboration and leadership on assigned projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Be detail oriented and have a high energy level with the ability to multitask and frequently switch between tasks for your assigned work
  • Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
  • Have good to great organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree(s)
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience on projects for large power providers
  • Past experience on cutting-edge engineering solutions in dense urban environments
  • Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and GIS tools
  • 5+ years of experience in planning, design and construction of energy systems
