Systems Integration Project Manager

Position Overview

With the next-generation Educational Technology (EdTech) platform focused on modern technology to power scalable, secure, and data-driven learning ecosystems The Systems Integration Manager leads the technical integration ecosystem and oversees the full project-management lifecycle of client and user onboarding for a newly launched EdTech platform supporting U.S. infrastructure workforce-development and certification pathways. This role ensures seamless interoperability between the platform and external systems, while also managing the structured onboarding of employers, training providers, credentialing bodies, and government workforce agencies.
The Manager combines technical integration expertise with strong project-management discipline to deliver smooth, timely, and compliant onboarding experiences that accelerate adoption and long-term platform success.

Key ResponsibilitiesIntegration Strategy & Architecture
  • Develop and maintain the platform’s integration strategy and technical architecture, aligned with product roadmap and workforce-development requirements.
  • Design scalable integrations with:
    - LMS/SIS platforms
    - Credentialing and digital badge systems
    - Employer HRIS/ATS systems
    - Labor-market data providers
    - State and federal workforce reporting systems (WIOA, Perkins V, USDOT, DOE, DOL)
  • Ensure integrations support competency-based learning, skills verification, and industry-recognized certification workflows.
Project Management
  • Lead the end-to-end project-management function for onboarding new clients, partners, and user groups onto the platform.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination: Lead cross-functional project teams of 5-15 members; facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, and maintain team motivation throughout project lifecycle
  • - Facilitate kickoff meetings, requirements-gathering sessions, and technical discovery workshops.
    - Serve as the primary technical point of contact during onboarding.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    - Coordinate with product, engineering, customer success, training, and compliance teams to ensure all onboarding tasks are completed.
    - Translate client requirements into actionable technical tasks and integration specifications.
  • User Provisioning & Environment Setup:
    - Oversee configuration of client environments, including:
    - User roles and permissions
    - SSO/SAML/OAuth setup
    - Data-exchange pipelines
    - LMS/SIS/HRIS connections
    - Certification and credentialing workflows
  • Risk, Issue & Change Management:
    - Identify onboarding risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
    - Manage change requests, scope adjustments, and timeline impacts.
    - Maintain clear documentation and status reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner Readiness & Training:
    - Develop onboarding guides, technical documentation, and training materials.
    - Deliver training sessions for administrators, instructors, and employer partners.
    - Ensure clients achieve go-live readiness with confidence.
API Development & Data Exchange
  • Lead development and maintenance of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and secure data-exchange pipelines.
  • Oversee ETL processes for learner data, credential status, and job-matching insights.
  • Implement data-mapping frameworks aligned with CTDL, SCORM, xAPI, LTI, Ed-Fi, and infrastructure-sector certification schemas.
  • Maintain high-quality API documentation and partner integration guides.
Platform Interoperability & Partner Enablement
  • Manage technical onboarding for employers, training providers, and government partners.
  • Develop integration playbooks and standardized workflows to accelerate adoption.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and lead root-cause analysis for complex cross-system problems.
  • Ensure integrations enhance user experience and program outcomes.
Data Governance, Security & Compliance
  • Ensure all integrations and onboarding processes comply with:
    - FERPA
    - SOC 2
    - NIST 800-53
    - State workforce reporting requirements
    - Federal infrastructure workforce program guidelines
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization frameworks (OAuth, SSO, SAML).
  • Maintain data-quality standards, audit trails, and monitoring systems.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the liaison between engineering, product, operations, and external partners.
  • Translate workforce-development program requirements into technical specifications.
  • Provide integration insights to support product roadmap decisions, grant applications, and government partnerships.
  • Mentor junior engineers or analysts supporting integration and onboarding workstreams.
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
  • 5–8+ years in systems integration, API development, or technical program management.
  • Experience in EdTech, workforce development, government technology, or certification ecosystems strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing client onboarding projects and technical implementations.
  • Experience integrating LMS/SIS platforms, HRIS/ATS systems, or credentialing technologies.
  • Preferred: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, XML, OAuth, SAML, and SSO frameworks.
  • Experience with integration platforms and APIs (Mulesoft, Boomi, Workato, Zapier Enterprise, Oracle, and/or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of CTDL, SCORM, xAPI, LTI, Ed-Fi, and workforce-sector data standards.
  • Strong SQL and ETL pipeline experience.
Leadership & Competencies
