Summary:

The Director – Corporate, Specialty and Government PM is a senior portfolio management role. The Director is responsible for the management of a portfolio of commercial loans within the Corporate, Specialty, and Government Banking group.  Primary responsibilities include underwriting quality, portfolio monitoring, and portfolio administration for an assigned portfolio. The Director will frequently collaborate with internal partners including Relationship Management, Credit Administration, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, and other product partners in optimizing customer relationships. A Director level colleague is generally viewed as a subject matter expert in the industry they cover.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite complex commercial loans in accordance with Huntington credit policies. 
  • Monitor a portfolio of commercial loans, proactively identifying emerging risks and esc
  • Portfolio administration, including management of delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base and covenant compliance, product renewals, etc., as applicable.
  • As applicable, attend client calls (virtual or in-person) with Relationship Management and other Bank partners.  Establish positioning as secondary bank contact for the portfolio of covered clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market/industry trends.  Conduct industry and market research using numerous resources available.
  • Assist with training and/or mentoring Analyst, Associate and Associate Director level colleagues.
  • Provide accurate and timely front-end guidance to Relationship Management colleagues, drawing upon knowledge of Huntington credit policies and credit culture.
  • Review and negotiate credit documentation in consultation with legal counsel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal credit training
  • Experience in the syndicated loan market
  • Proficiency in S&P Capital IQ
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Microsoft Excel)
