Job Description

Works with various business groups and senior management to develop and implement strong communication plans that assist in meeting organizational goals and objectives. Evaluates complex information and strategically determines the appropriate method of communication based on the topic and organizational goals. Creates and edits internal and external communications, writes leadership speeches, messages, and talking points, coordinates speaking engagements, and provides leadership support for media and external spokesperson activities. May provide communications consulting and project management support for special communication initiatives and business priorities.

What The Role Will Do:

Plan, implement and evaluate communication and storytelling strategies for the Business Banking Product (BBP) organization to raise stakeholder awareness of U.S. Bank's connected ecosystem of small business money management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with BBP senior leaders to understand business goals and objectives and develop communications and storytelling strategies to support

  • Bring to life the narrative around U.S. Bank's digital platform and tools that enable business owners to effectively manage their financial operations

  • Support annual Small Business Perspective survey by developing and implementing a thought leadership plan to communicate the insights to key stakeholders

  • Serve as a strategic partner to BBP senior leadership, providing communication counsel and coaching

  • Plan and deliver executive visibility strategies to drive awareness and adoption of small business banking offerings

  • Lead team engagement strategies that connect the team to the strategy and celebrate achievements and collaborations that advance the work

  • Ensure alignment with partner teams across BBP, Public Affairs & Communications, Marketing and Social that support storytelling for the U.S. Bank small business client experience

Preferred experience:

  • Strong expertise building and executing communications strategies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into clear narratives

  • Proven track record providing counsel and guidance to senior leaders

  • Collaborative working style with ability to drive consensus across multiple internal stakeholders

  • Strong comfort level and experience using generative AI tools like CoPilot and Claude

  • Experience with media relations and understanding of media landscape

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in communications activities

  • One or more years of supervisory/management experience

Location Expectations

This role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
