Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Senior Client Associate to join our Latin America private banking team in our New York office within our Capital Partners line of business.
In this role, the Senior Client Associate (Sr CA) serves as the primary support person for these multi-family office (MFO) LATAM client relationships.. The Sr CA is focused on relationship servicing and assisting Relationship Managers (RMs). The Sr CA will be the primary point person for all aspects of client service, account problem resolution, daily interaction with clients, and all administrative and operational tasks.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Relationship Management:

  • Independently serve as the primary support for all client relationships with little or no oversight from more senior Relationship Manager.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for client questions (e.g., Tax checks/ Wires/ Charitable Gifts / Client Portal logins).
  • Work with RM to oversee all transactional activity with clients, internal operational work and communication across other operational teams.
  • Proactive regarding client communication and retention
  • Spend majority of time managing operations and communication for current accounts and overseeing onboarding of client relationships.
Investment Execution:
  • Independently own account activity in conjunction with senior RM; manage client communication and operations.
  • Oversee/guide junior Client Associate as they troubleshoot client account issues such as asset transfers, portfolio reporting/activity, client data requests, and resolving non receipt of mailing for their clients' accounts.
  • Create communications regarding asset transfers and instructions for all operational activities (both for clients and other team members).
  • Collect and maintain client meeting notes, log client communication and records for account reviews, and properly document any other client activity that should be entered in client database.
  • Serve as primary interface on behalf of client with central management teams within BBH.
Risk Management & Administration:
  • Exercise sound, professional judgment on behalf of clients, while avoiding risks to the firm and demonstrating 100% adherence to the compliance requirements of the business, including Investment Policy Statements, Know Your Customer requirements, and completing documentation and written records of meetings and discussions.
  • As primary day to day contact point with clients, elevate high level risk issues to senior RM.
  • Ensure total compliance at the account level and oversee and respond to all compliance reports (i.e., overdraft reports, approved trades, delinquent documentation, IPSs).
  • Oversee all account maintenance activities, including documentation, meeting materials and performance evaluations.
Business & Professional Leadership:
  • Participate in personal and professional networks with an eye towards cultivating referrals in the future.
  • Keep abreast of internal/external market activity and be well read and become conversant on overall market tends, including but not limited to, reading the Wall Street Journal daily
  • Develop professionally and personally by utilizing the internal resources at BBH.
  • Always demonstrates professional behavior and etiquette and serves as a model for other employees.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS required
  • 5+ years or relevant experience in a client support role
  • Wealth Management/Private Banking experience required
  • Spanish language a must; Professional Proficiency or Native
  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to identify, escalate and resolve problems/issues.
  • Ability to communicate professionally through effective verbal and written skills
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and an attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Interpersonal skills/ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates analytical and research skills
  • Independent and proactive client service (skilled at time management)

This role is based in our New York City location and is a hybrid role, with 4 days per week in office.
Salary Range
$100k-$120k base salary + annual bonus
