About Us

Welch, Couch & Company, PA is an established CPA firm of approximately 30 professionals serving clients across Arkansas and Missouri from our offices in Batesville, Little Rock, and West Plains. We provide audit, tax, accounting services, and advisory with the personal attention of a regional firm and the technical depth our clients rely on. We're growing, and we're looking for a Client Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Services team.


The Role

As a Client Accounting Specialist in our Accounting Services department, you'll manage the books and payroll for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries โ€” serving as their outsourced accounting function and a trusted point of contact. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role for someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys doing it well.


Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining general ledger accounting and preparing financial statements for client accounts
  • Processing client payroll accurately and on schedule
  • Making payroll tax deposits and ensuring timely compliance
  • Preparing and filing required payroll forms with the IRS and applicable state agencies
  • Reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Communicating with clients on bookkeeping and payroll matters
  • Keeping organized, audit-ready records


What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with financial statements, general ledger accounting, payroll processing, payroll tax deposits, and filing payroll forms with the IRS and state agencies
  • Accounting degree preferred (significant relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting CS
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll
