Job Summary:
ClifyX is seeking a highly skilled ClickHouse Architect / Tech Lead / SME to join a large-scale data and analytics transformation initiative supporting Walmart. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ClickHouse database architecture and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance analytical data platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Design, architect, and implement scalable ClickHouse database solutions for enterprise-grade analytics platforms.
• Lead the migration and modernization of data workloads from traditional databases and data warehouses to ClickHouse.
• Optimize ClickHouse clusters for high-volume data ingestion, query performance, and storage efficiency.
• Develop data modeling strategies including partitioning, indexing, sharding, replication, and compression techniques.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex database performance issues and recommend best practices for scalability and reliability.
• Design and implement real-time and near real-time analytics solutions.
• Establish database governance, security, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers and developers.
• Create architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and technical design specifications.
• Work closely with cloud and DevOps teams to automate deployments and operational processes.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and production support activities.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, Database Architecture, or Big Data technologies.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with ClickHouse database implementation and administration.
• Strong expertise in ClickHouse architecture, cluster management, replication, sharding, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing and supporting large-scale analytical platforms handling billions of records.
• Strong SQL skills with expertise in query optimization and analytical workloads.
• Experience integrating ClickHouse with ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Linux environments and database administration.
• Experience working with distributed systems and high-volume data processing environments.
