Job description

School Social Worker, 2.0 FTE; 2026-2027 School Year
 

Qualifications  

  • Master's Degree in School Social Work
  • Valid State of Michigan Certification as a School Social Worker

Essential Duties

  • Provide school social work support and services to general education students as part of the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
    ? Provide school social work support and services to students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans
    ? Experience working with students with disabilities
    ? Strong knowledge of a wide range of psychiatric disorders
    ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    ? Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
    ? Effective collaboration with parents, educational staff and community agencies to coordinate programs and services for students and families
    ? Strong diagnostic skills and experience participating in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team process
    ? Experience facilitating the IEP process and engagement in the Section 504 Process
    ? Knowledge and use of Positive Behavioral Supports
    ? Active participant in functional behavioral analysis (FBA) and development of behavior intervention plans (BIP)
    ? Administration of Threat and Risk Assessments
    ? Trained in, or willing to be trained in non-violent crisis intervention
    ? Conduct home visits as appropriate
    ? Maintain accurate and confidential records
    ? Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable















 Salary 

Appropriate placement on the current Teacher's Master Agreement.
