  • Responsibility for embedding GenAI across the software development lifecycle, including design, engineering, testing, and operations, to materially improve platform quality, operational resilience, and execution speed
  • Clear ownership of judgment calls on where GenAI meaningfully adds value versus where deterministic, rules based approaches must remain
  • Partnership with Architecture, Risk, Legal, and Controls teams to ensure responsible, explainable, and regulator ready AI adoption

Platform Strategy and Modernization

  • Ownership of multi-year modernization roadmaps aligned to VisaNet evolution, cloud adoption, and service based architectures
  • Leadership of complex change across deep legacy platforms and modern stacks, with zero tolerance for avoidable operational risk
  • Strategic input into enterprise architecture, data strategy, and platform standardization decisions that affect VisaNet at scale
  • Driving the evolution of engineering standards to ensure long-term scalability and excellence

Operations, Risk and Regulatory Readiness

  • Accountability for 24x7, always on operations with extreme availability and accuracy requirements
  • Ownership of production readiness, incident management, post incident learning, audits, and regulatory engagements
  • Responsibility for operational, financial, and risk metrics surfaced at Executive Leadership Team, Board, and regulator levels

People and Leadership

  • Leadership of a large, globally distributed engineering organization spanning multiple time zones
  • Development of strong succession pipelines, including leaders with deep platform and GenAI fluency
  • Establishment of a culture centered on ownership, operational discipline, accountability, and responsible innovation
  • Partner with Product, Platform Architecture, Treasury, Risk, and Operations leaders to deliver end-to-end payment processing outcomes
  • Translate business, regulatory, and risk requirements into clear platform strategies and executable plans
  • Drive GenAI adoption in ways that are outcome focused, measurable, and regulator credible
  • Lead modernization efforts while actively managing tradeoffs between speed, stability, and operational risk
  • Act as a senior voice in executive forums, clearly articulating risk, opportunity, and platform tradeoffs
  • Represent the organization in regulatory discussions, audits, and critical partner engagements as required
