Job description

Description:

The Maintenance position is responsible for general maintenance, repairs, upkeep, and labor throughout SkyPark. This position supports the overall operation of the park by maintaining buildings, facilities, attractions, equipment, and common areas in a safe, functional, and presentable condition.


The Maintenance team member performs a variety of hands-on tasks and assists with repairs, projects, seasonal preparations, setup, cleanup, and general labor as directed by the Executive of Operations.


This position is seasonal and requires availability Monday-Wednesday. 


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs throughout SkyPark, including painting, patching, caulking, hardware replacement, and minor carpentry.
  • Inspect park facilities, equipment, attractions, fixtures, and common areas and promptly report damage, hazards, or maintenance needs.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and upkeep of buildings, structures, attractions, equipment, and other park assets.
  • Assist with specialized maintenance projects under the direction of qualified personnel and only within the employee’s training, experience, and authorization.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, movement, loading, unloading, and storage of equipment, furniture, decorations, signage, and event materials.
  • Perform general labor and property upkeep, including debris removal, sweeping, digging, hauling, organizing materials, and maintaining work areas.
  • Assist with seasonal preparations, park improvement projects, construction projects, special projects, and event-related needs.
  • Assist with weather-related preparation, cleanup, and recovery as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, storage areas, and work areas in an organized and safe condition.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, carts, and other equipment as trained and authorized.
  • Assist outside contractors, vendors, and other departments with maintenance or facility-related work as directed.
  • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, inspection checklists, and other required documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of guest and employee safety while performing work throughout the park.
  • Follow all SkyPark safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance, construction, facilities, general labor, or similar experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safely operate equipment after receiving appropriate training.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable, responsible, and willing to perform a variety of hands-on tasks.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and other park personnel.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Ability to work on ladders and elevated surfaces when properly trained and authorized.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and manual labor.
  • Ability to work outdoors throughout SkyPark in cold, heat, rain, snow, and other changing weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, uneven terrain, moving equipment, and other conditions associated with a theme park and maintenance environment.
  • Must use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all applicable safety procedures.
