Job description

Job Title: Commercial Carpenter / Crew Lead

Job Description

We're seeking a hands-on Carpenter Lead to support a commercial tenant improvement project in Calgary. Working closely with the Site Superintendent, you'll coordinate subcontractors, maintain quality standards, oversee daily site activities, and lead a small crew while remaining active on the tools.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily site operations and project scheduling.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Oversee framing, drywall, steel stud, and installation trades to maintain quality standards.
  • Manage QC/QA processes, reporting, and documentation.
  • Perform hands-on carpentry, including formwork and layout work as required.
  • Lead and coordinate a crew of 3-4 workers.
  • Assist with site maintenance, cleanup, and safety compliance.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and project stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of commercial formwork/carpentry experience.
  • Proven experience leading crews of 4+ workers.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience working directly with clients and subcontractors.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Current CSTS or Site Ready certification.
  • Own PPE and tool belt.
  • Proficient with power tools and commercial construction practices.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment check.
Nice to Have
  • Commercial tenant improvement (TI) experience.
  • Layout and site measurement experience.
  • Previous experience supporting a Site Superintendent or Foreman.
