Job Description:

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and solutions.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues before procedures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control practices.
  • Assist in the positioning and prepping of patients prior to surgery.
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and other necessary items to the surgeon during procedures.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after the operation to prevent retained surgical items.
  • Maintain an organized and sterile field throughout the surgery.
  • Assist in decontaminating and cleaning surgical instruments and equipment post-procedure.
  • Collaborate effectively with the surgical team including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists.
  • Document and report any discrepancies or concerns regarding surgical supplies or procedures.
